Once you receive your Bottimals™ bottle-lovey, we recommend first washing the lovey and the heart pad in your preferred laundry detergent, delicate cycle, in a mesh linen bag.  Then, dry on delicate. Spot clean as needed.

We recommend wearing the heart pad within your bra (closest to your
mammary glands) for at least 2 hours before use. If you’re not planning to use it right away, we recommend sealing it in a resealable bag until the baby is ready to feed.

Research shows the most positive effects within 4 hours of capturing mom’s scent; however, pheromones have been shown to last for years!

We recommend the heart pad be about 10cm (or 4 inches) from the baby’s nose, approximately. For reference, the paws of the lovey should line up with the nipple cap on the bottle.

Below are some other recommendations:

- Some users have found it most helpful when mom is not around the baby when the other caregiver is feeding the baby from the bottle.
- Incorporate the lovey into the baby’s playtime routine! We believe this will help to continue to develop positive associations with bottle feeding.
- Don’t give up! If at first you don’t succeed, continue to incorporate the lovey into baby’s daily routine.
